Sweet Cake Pops

Soooo, my dear friends, do you still have the cake left overs from the birthday berry cake? 'Cause with these we're gonna do those lovely cake pops. Best thing is: you don't need any fancy equipment like silicon forms or - God no! - a cake pop machine!

For 5-15 Cake Pops you need
cake left over of the berry cake or of another cake that you just made (You can take all types of sponge or shortcrust cakes, carrot or sacher cake work as well.)

40 g powder sugar
30 g margarine
2-3 tbsp plant based milk (i chose almond milk - of course)
ca. 100-200 g dark vegan chocolate
ca. 100-200 g white vegan chocolate

a few drops of red food colour
50 g chopped pistachios
10-30 cake pop sticks (Simple bbq sticks from the supermarket work as well, maybe shorten them a bit)

And that's what needs to be done

Crumble the cake left overs into a middle sized bowl, add the powder sugar and mix it with a spoon. Melt the margarine in a small sauce pan and add it to the cake crumbles and powder sugar mix. Work it with your hands until you get a homogeneous mass. Form small balls out of this pastry (ca. 3,5 cm diameter), place them on a plate and put the plate in the freezer.

Then melt the dark and the white chocolate in two different bowls (keep a few pieces of dark chocolate), I used a fondue set for melting, but it works as well in a hot water bath or in a small sauce pan with reduced heat. But pay attention and stir from time to time, so the chocolate is not burning.

After 10 to 15 minutes take the cake pops out of the freezer, dip the tip of the cake pop sticks into the liquid dark chocolate and stick it into the cake pops. Then put the cake pops with sticks back in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes., maybe even a bit longer.

Divide the melted white chocolate in two small bowls, mix the red food colour into one, so you receive a pnik coloured chocolate melt. Place the chopped pistachios on a plate, grate the left over dark chocolate and place it on another plate.

Take the cake pops out of the freezer, dip them into one of the chocolates (dark, white or pink), so the whole cake pop ball is covered in chocolate, garnish immediately with pistachios or granted chocolate and put them in a not to high cup to dry.

For the cake pops on the picture I combined white chocolate with pistachios, pink coloured chocolate with granted dark chocolate and dark chocolate with drops of white chocolate (use a fork to create a nice pattern), but ce creative and combine other delicious, colourful ingredients.

Acctually, those tiny masterpieces are way to beautiful to eat, so when you take a bite, don't forget to enjoooooooy! ♥
